Havoc jailbreak repository picks up support for PayPal
The above-mentioned Twitter announcement came just days after the Twickd repository announced that it would no longer enable PayPal-based sales of paid jailbreak tweaks in order to encourage the creation of free and open-source jailbreak packages.
The Havoc repository was released earlier this year to replace the now-defunct Packix repository, which was once one of the most popular paid jailbreak package repositories.
Users now have another more convenient alternative for purchasing their favorite packages, and developers, who have been requesting this payment flow for a long time due to its simplicity, now have it as well.
PayPal has joined Apple Pay and physical credit cards as a user-favorite payment method in the Havoc repository, but payments can only be made using package manager programs other than Cydia, such as Sileo, and Zebra.
The new PayPal support will be fascinating to see if it motivates additional jailbreak developers to create and deploy paid jailbreak customizations, but only time will tell.
