The iOS 15.5 software is presently in beta testing, with a release date set for later this month. iOS is a bug fix and security update, as well as a milestone update from Apple. There are a few new features as well. While the release date for iOS 15.5 is unknown, if you don’t want to wait, you may download a beta version of the software for your iPhone today.

We currently live in the land of iOS 15.5. Following a trial period that began in late January, Apple has published an update to its iOS 15 software. This means that current iPhones will be able to run iOS 15.4, which is also pre-installed on the iPhone SE (2022), and the green iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro versions that will be available this Friday.

iOS 15 debuted last fall and included a plethora of new features, but successive versions have added much more. We’ve already seen iOS 15 upgrades that include SharePlay, which allows you to view videos and listen to music with people on FaceTime chats, as well as a new privacy report for all of your iPhone’s apps.

Apple has released Release Candidate (RC) 5 of iOS 15.5, following beta 5 last week. In comparison to iOS 15.4, iOS 15.5 has a lot more new features, tweaks, and enhancements. Face ID is now supported when masked for iPhone 12 and subsequent models, new emojis have been added, and Keychain has been updated.

The developer program is $99 per year and includes access to this upgrade. You can also join the public beta program to receive the most recent build as soon as it is published. All patients will be able to use the stable, public release, which will be ready next week. The highlights of iOS 15.4 are listed below.

Apple’s new Tap to Pay functionality, which turns compatible iPhones into contactless payment terminals, is also available with iOS 15.4. This might lead to more merchants using their iPhones as a digital cash register, potentially displacing Square’s card readers that connect directly to iPhones. Apple Pay, NFC-enabled credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets are all supported by the feature.

iOS 15.5 Release Date:

The final version of iOS 15.5 will be released on March 20, 2022. Apple has not stated when iOS 15.4 will be released. This week, the new operating system should be available for download. As a result, on March 14, 2022, the whole public will be able to download iOS 15.5.

iOS 15.5 will come preloaded on the new iPhone SE, green iPhone 13, and alpine green iPhone 13 Pro, according to Apple. The software is currently undergoing internal testing, so the public release of the update could happen soon. If you’re a member of Apple’s developer program, you can download and install the iOS 15.4 upgrades.

The iOS 15.5 update from Apple is a must-have for anyone who uses emoji in a creative way. This update adds 37 new emojis for pregnant people, a heart-shaped hand, a salutation, and a lip-biting emoji, which is one of my favorites. A melting face, a cheerful face holding back tears, coral, a lotus, a low battery, and kidney beans were among the other items we spotted last fall.

Moving on, iOS 15.5 adds a new security feature to AirTags, Apple’s item-tracking technology that has been exploited to follow people in the past. The update includes a warning about using AirTags to follow someone’s position without their permission, which builds on Apple’s anti-stalking measures announced in February.

Any device that supports iOS 15, from the first generation iPhone 6S to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, will be able to run iOS 15.5. The complete list of compatible devices may be seen here.

A fifth American voice for Siri, which Apple has confirmed belongs to a member of the LGBTQ+ community, is another interesting feature. iOS 15.5 also includes 36 new emoji to spice up your texts, including a melting face, a person peeking through their fingers, and an awful biting lip image that’s destined to follow in the footsteps of the eggplant emoji.
